Just found this site in time to prevent me making a big mistake. Very informative. All I need now is to find where I can find a colour dye for a cement and sand mix to match sandstone

Having found your site, and while I'm not in the habit of commenting in Visitors' Books, I felt I just had to sing your praises. This is quite the best site I have seen in many a year - regardless of subject. It is beautifully presented, informative, crystal clear, humourous, devoid of bull***t, and provides all the information you could possibly need in one place. The indexing is excellent.
As a large-scale DIYer who likes to do things well, can I thank you for your generosity in sharing your wealth of wisdom and experience. I know I've learned a lot, and I'm sure that some tradesmen would do well to browse awhile.
Many congratulations, and thanks again. Your site is an object lesson in 'how to do it' in Internet tetrms as well as its specific content.
Best wishes

What a site! Clear good instructions, nearly makes you forget to read the instructions for the next section as logic takes over. This web site should be a goldmine to suppliers on how too. GOOD LUCK and keep up the standard. Jim

I have plucked up courage to try and re-design and construct my own garden. I have no experience and no knowledge to speak of and have been very excited to find this website. I am starting my project by laying a small patio using reclaimed york stone slabs, three of which are around 1m square and 4" thick. I am now looking for reclaimed granite setts and bricks with which to fill in the spaces. Any ideas about where I could get hold of some would be welcome. Meanwhile, congratulations on creating such a comprehensive site that also succeeds in being really accessible to complete novices.
