Excellent! As an aircraft pilot I often travel to Europe and admire the fan pattern cobbles. Most of the cobbled streets of my youth have long been torn up and paved with asphalt. They were mostly a running bond. My old farmyard needs better than the crushed-stone surface it now sports. Since I have the equipment and tools and am a do-it-myselfer, I believe I can duplicate the pattern. The information you've compiled in one place and generously shared is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for the wonderful site. You clearly care deeply about the subject. I admire your knowledge and work ethics you covey through these pages. I like the sense of humor too ;-) Nice to see site w/o endless advertising too. I will send you photos of my finished driveway :-) Unknowingly, I used brick sand as a bedding layer. I wonder what kind of trouble I should expect..?

Thanks for the time and trouble you took to explain the finer points during my problems with a firm of bad 'uns. Hopefully they will be brought to book. Your book is excellent, wifey has read it, and is already an expert, with a few projects in mind for me. Regards and best wishes, Chas H

Brilliant website! Whenever I need to know anything on drainage I come staright to this site and 99% of the time I get an answer. Fantastic! Keep up the good work.
We have just built a new house and have some drainage problems in the garden. I thought I knew how to solve it but your comprehensive guide has given me some great ideas that I would not have thought of. Thanks. What a terrific website. Mel

Hi there Tony Just came across your site as I wanted some advice on how to lay paving slabs (I will be erecting a shed on my new allotment and need to create a suitable base). I think this is one of the best web sites I have ever come across – well written with lots of dry humour, very informative and very well presented. Fantastic job – really well done! Cheers Richard Coombe

I just want to take my hat of to a brilliant accurate resource. I had my doubts at first as always with online content, but I have to say when there has been discrepancy’s between this site and other so called “experts” which I have sought advice, this site has ended up top trump. I am now using this as my sole source of info, and it has never let me down. Top Job Thanks.

Laying patios ? Im poking around in the dark. However, I have studied the directions given in your site and my God, its the most useful site of the very many I have searched. I have layed the sub base and now the pleasure work begins as I lay the slabs. I look forward to many a happy retired hour (when I get back from fishing) sipping the beer until I fall asleep. But dont tell the wife my intentions or shell have me doing something else. Thankyou so very much.
