Well my new flagged drive has been laid & I have a problem with staining from acorns dropping on it. I came across your site while researching stain cleaning. Maybe I should have done the research before the flags were put down! Anyway I am going to try to remedy for rust stains & then maybe cut the oak tree back. A very interesting site, thanks for setting it up.

Thank you for a brilliant website.I have yesterday had my front drive tarmaced and the was in disagreement with my builder about the tarmac subcontractor.I was for a proper job and he was for the wearing course only saying the base had been undisturbed for 40 years and he was not digging it out. When i arrived from work the drive had been done and thanks to your website i was able to find out what and how it had been laid.I think the wearing course is an overlay to about 50 mm thick and if the base is as good has he says the surface is still only good for 18 months to 2 years.Am i right and can i ask the builder to come back after 2 years even though i do not know who the tarmacer was? Thank You for being here and the effort gone into this site it is truly a masterpiece.Well Done.

Please never remove the information from this site. It is by far my favorite to give to others to look at. I am no contractor but love to DIY, so many people ask me my opinion, and this is always where I send them. This is an amazing reference. Thanks

We are considering using PIC for our drive and I could not have found a more useful and informative site. Thank you for the time and trouble you have invested in creating it.

fabulous site, good info. I know quite a few builders and paving layers and they all talk along the same lines as you have. first project for me is 195 square metres for my own drive way, no point in doing things by halves eh !

Read it just in the nick of time, I shall be laying pavers in a couple of weeks time. Simply explained directions which I studied with interest and will certainly help me in the task ahead. Many thanks.
