As everyone else has noted, this site is invaluable when it comes to laying stone, tile, brick, or really anything you'd like to pattern. Thanks for all the time you put into helping us do-it-yourselfers out!

Hi
Thanks for this excellent site. It enabled me to add 25sq meters to an already existing block driveway and to estimate and buy the correct amount of materials. I followed your step by step instructions and ended up with a great result.
Thanks again.

Hello
As we are in a high water table area Iwas looking for info on private drainage problems and came upon your site by accident! It was the best - by a mile! Printed up the info - consulted various contractors (and our local Environment Agency) and am now waiting for drier weather to start on the drainage work.
Am also looking to do new paving at the front and now know exactly what I want (and don't want!).
Your site is absolutely brill. Easy to use for us less able on computers (ie older), your information is very easy to follow for non-trade people (although I grew up on building sites in the 1950s and 1960s -Dad was a joiner of considerable merit and I should have been a boy!) and the whole structure of your information is invaluable.
Sorry to hear of your health problems but please know that the knowledge and information that you impart is invaluable to others - and it would have been a great shame to lose it!
Regards from Anne (Also with back problems having Titanium bolts and bars in my lower back).

Love this site for it's content and links.
Have been refering to it in every instance to assist me in a project/presentation that I am dreaming to do.
The presntation will be looking at the effects on the body when traversing over different paved areas.
Will include an idea on how to seriously reduce costs to those who engineer pavements/roads plus reduce risks of litigation.
Will be using this site to ask for advice as well as other things.

This is one of the most informative and practical construction websites I have seen, and written in a friendly, down-to-earth, but authoritative manner.
Thanks very much for giving so much of your time and expertise to assist others.

A great site, thank you. I wish I had found it before I made my 'big hole half filled with rubble' soak away for the dog waste disposals. I even had to go round to sites to scrounge the rubble. Now I know about those milk crate units. But since I am pondering land drains and ACO Channels to deal with the quagmire which is the back garden, it has been extremely useful to find somewhere to learn all about it. I could get quite carried away. Probably go for one channel and some land drains across the sloping lawn to meet the surface water drain (I think that is what it is). Marvellous. I've ordered the book from Crowood for handy reference. :)
