I have barely scratched the surface of your site Tony, but wanted to say that I am so impressed with your expert knowledge and attention to detail. All be it above my station of comprehension at the moment, I will spend many hours on here learning all the time. So may I congratulate and thank you for all your efforts, from one of the hundreds I am sure that have enjoyed your site, and the many thousands that will in the future. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Must be one of the clearest, most useful sites I've ever come across. Am (re-)paving my garden in stages and have referred to it numerous times in the last year or so. Have never needed to ask you a question as all the answers are already there. Many thanks! PLEASE keep it up and running (at least until I've finished!).

Thanks Tony for creating and maintaining such a brilliant site. I didn't have a clue how to relay my patio and cut slabs. After reading your site, I've been able to do it myself, saving £££s. The wife is delighted too. Outstanding!

Well, it is Sunday, the concrete was poured yesterday, and NOW it is too late to put right the mistakes(probably eventually very expensive mistakes) we made! How I wish we had Googled and found you on Friday!! But we will know next time - Great site.

As a home owner about to embark on extensive drainage work (prompted by recent flooding) I started to research the subject thoroughly. Manufacturer sites, academies and "how to" guides aren't a patch on this site. Absolutely fantastic. My fairly comprehensive investigation kept leading me back here. Well explained, simple and trustworthy. My only criticism would be that the site navigation isn't intuitive so I keep 'discovering' more valuable content that I might otherwise have missed. Thank you for taking the time to put the site together.

I found your advice on effloresence very re-assuring. Although we are still suffering with it quite badly six months on at least I now know it will disappear eventually and no-one is to blame. Understanding what it is has put my mind at rest. Thank you.

What a brilliant site, clear and concise explanations to all the 'trade' terms, whilst they are so familiar to myself after many years in this industry, this site provides excellent advice and guidance to anyone thinking of engaging paving services. If only this was known and available at every trading standards office throughout the uk - the darker side of the tarmac industry would fade away. i note you have covered fuel damage, power steering damage and 'softening' in your faq's -perhaps you might add in advice on weed infestation and growth through macadams \ asphalts - specifically horsetail.

Thank you very much for this fantastic web site - excellent on every level. I wish that others could commit themselves to this kind of care for detail in both thought and expression. It is really exemplary. I have little building experience, and am doing a small project as a favour for a friend/neighbour. I was anxious that it should be done well and efficiently. This web-site has given me some crucial tips, and with that some confidence. All the best,

Really impressed with this site on two counts. First as a keen DIYer who is embarking on an 80 square metre block paving project and a web site designer. You must be up for an award!!!

Struggling with the weather and a heavy waterlogged garden. If I don't get it sorted it won't be for lack of information and advice on your brilliant site. I guess it's a labour of love - and absolutely in the spirit of the web making information widely available. Many thanks for your expertise and your generosity in sharing it.

What a great site , although fairly familiar with most building terms and techniques it is a great help to be able to refer to your site ( in plain English ) when carrying out slabbing, drainage and paving at my own house. Its made a quite large project a lot easier, Thanks .......... Jeff

Hi, I am training to become one of the very "popular" Home Inspectors / Domestic Energy Assessors. I find your website very informative for learning purposes and better than most reference books. I hope you will not mind me using your website in this way and would like to thank you for the quality of information and diagrams it provides. Kind regards Richard Grove
