Thank you for taking the time to build such an informative site.As this is my first time attempting such a task,I am grateful you decided to share your expertise with us amateurs.Top notch site!
Great site and very informative, give's you confidence in this style of work. Was told about it by Bainbridge Flooring in Huddersfield, but as i live in Southern Ireland it's harder to get the info. I've found a company who will lay and awaiting pricing. But i'll know the info now and if there trying to overcharge. Great Site. Any Irish info welcome
As everyone else has said, an excellent site. Well done! As a charity I have limited funds and we must do things ourselves which can sometimes go wrong as I ahve found. Hopefully this will make all the difference.

I've spent days and many hours looking for such a site as this. Now that I have found it, I need go no further. Excellent & most comprehensive. BTK
Technically accurate. Its nice to see that the industry is protected by those who wish to see the job done well, to correct specifications. A good reference source even for those of us who have been in the industry for a long time.

An outstanding site, for content, appearance and speed. I came only to check concrete mixes, but have looked at most of it for the pure pleasure of reading an expert! A pretty wit, too.

A very informative and well designed site. I have just had the driveway to my house block paved and, because of the information I had gathered from your site,I was able to follow the work through from start to finish, knowing that what was being done was exactly what should have been and no corners cut! The result is great & the contractors recomended maintenance schedule is echoed on your site. Many thanks.

I'm a regular visitor to the site, having planned , and now "doing" the building of a garage with workspace. Foundations, concrete, drainage, the site has answered my problems so far. Just one suggestion for addition--calculator for estimating brickwork, blockwork, and the mortar to lay them. I'll be back---often.

After surfing for days it was a refreshing change to find such a mine of relevant information in such a readable format. I am putting a plan together for a business in Brazil, and your site gave me not only some idea how much it's going to cost, but how to check on the contractor's work. Thankyou.

I am at present making my front garden into a drive. I am putting down block paving with Ryedale Walling along the sides and a small patio area by the front door. Your site is a welcome asset to me. It has clearly explained the rudiments of how to accomplish the task in hand it is all in plain english with clear concise diagrams. I have not seen a better site, nor am I looking as I have all the answers here. Thank you for taking the time to put together a great site.

A very informative site for the grasping of the basics of block paving. I am at present undertaking the blocking of my drive and patio area of some 260 sq metres, using Plaspave Rococo 60mm paving sets. One of the non-technical 'problems' I have encountered is atheistics. I have opted for a 45degree stretcher bond, however I find that either a left or right running pattern gives a total differing effect when viewed from diffent angles. Blocks laid at 45degrees will give you either a running course of your pattern from east to west of your view i.e the pattern full on, or less derirable from north to south, where the lines of the courses appear like tram lines. The latter calls for great accuracies in your laying, the eye will follow every deviations of the pattern! I decided that the priority of view was from the roadway and from the front door. The view that visitors would be stunning, the view from the front door a compromise. Anyway an excellent site worthy of the mouthpiece of the trade!

I have just spent over an hour and a half reading the various pages on your website. What an absolute goldmine of useful information. I found it by accident whilst trying to find out how much 3'x2' slabs (or should that be flags!) are going to cost me. One things for sure they'll now get laid somewhat better than they would have done an hour ago. Many Thanks
