Truly excellent site has helped me out many times when dealing with more complex jobs in a very clear, and easily understandable manner. And in these days of "greed" what a generous person(s) to give this information for free. Sir/Madame many thanks regards Nick

What an amazing website, very informative. Although my patio was laid by builders the question of sealants and small cement joint stains removal was my decision and your website provided the right answers; there is so much marketing hype on websites and you provided the knowledge basis for selecting products. One piece of knowledge gained externally that maybe of use to others is removal of small white abrasions on sandstone slabs (caused during transportation and removal from crates); gently scrub with soapy water before sealing otherwise the white marks will remain. many thanks

The tip about using diluted bleach to clean Indian Sandstone was invaluable! It worked a treat! My slabs were very stained with green and black lichen spots that pressure hosing just would not erase. The bleach restored the stone to almost new.

Well done WEB site! Thank you very much for your detailed and extensive information on Block Paving and short-cuts on laying a 45 degree herringbone pattern - pictures, descriptions; very complete! I was making a patio for the daughter and her husband. Your information not only made it much simpler overall, but the section on edgings also allowed me to make it more elaborate with less labor and cutting. Thanks!

Well done, you should be very proud of this wonderful site. I'm a 40 +++ woman with Indian Limestone Paving displaying serious Lichen problems - after working through your site, I'm smiling again. The text is put together in a very sensible format, plain English throughout and some Northern humour thrown in for good measure. I've got what I need from the site and can come away a happy woman. I'll be spreading the work! Keep up the good work.

Brilliant! Every aspect covered, especially the pros (are there?) and cons (many) of dobs. I never did a lot of paving but I was taught to use dobs and I always wondered what the benefits were. Eventually, a "new kid on the block" (15 years ago-ish)convinced me to stop it, and your advice vindicates it.

Found your site 'top of the pile' via Google search 'how do I clean black spots from Indian sandstone'.

Tony, you are a star and a credit.

In today's money grabbing, lying, cheating World to find someone willing to share in depth knowledge for free is almost spooky. I shall now set about exterminating the lichen colonies spoiling 50 of my once beautiful Indian sandstone 2 x 4s - should only take me a couple of years! Thank you, good luck, and please keep believing there is a purpose in getting up in the morning.
Roy

An excellent site for someone like me who knows nothing about the subject of resurfacing a driveway - it helps me to know whether a high pressure salesman is telling the truth!

I'm preparing materials for BTEC construction course and I've found your site to be extremely helpful. The layout is friendly, the info is pitched at the right level, and the graphics and photos are very clear and informative. This will realy help my students to understand the nitty gritty of the trade.
Thanks!!!
