Excellent site and a source of a tremendous breadth of information. Recommended to anyone and a tribute to the time and effort put into producing the articles. All this and well designed as well!
This site is ... marvellous Like you tony I was out on site from a young age. I followed my father into the family business. I was struck by a car when tack-coating on the M8 and was unable to work for some 4 years.(I an now 39)My father kept things going while iundertook many operations on my legs.I have made a reasonable recovery and now manage the company and we continue to contract. I guess you have not been so lucky. good luck with your consulting, you obvisouly now the game inside out

Thanks for your clear and well put together site. Until I read about efflorescence, I thought I was stuck with it forever! It put my mind at rest as my paving is less than 6 months old. Have saved site to Favs for future reference. Many thanks Steve

What a great site. I was asking a mate for tips on laying cobble lock as I had never done it before and he refered me to this site last week. Over the weekend I put down 80M2 of cobble lock without any problems. The tips I found here were invaluable. I'm delighted with the results and more importantly the missus is happy too. Thanks again to all concerened with the site. I'll be back when I get around to doing the kerbs on my driveway.

The Best guide to doing DIY paving I have found !! Although the contractor who laid my driveway did a fair job, I feel having read your website I could have better specified what I required. As I have conservatory being built I need to construct a 6m x 1.2 pavoir block path on a very impervious base so I intend to try out your example of floating edge method with drainage holes at intervals

What a wonderful site! There are more info found on this site than all the books I’ve been reading from the local libraries, manufacturer documentation, and other interlocking websites. The sub-bases and drainage pages are indispensable. Now, if I can just decide on the paving materials… Thank you for sharing such a gem!

I have found your site very useful over the years and still use it as a handy guide on most sites but I would really like to see a bit more info on steel fixing and rebar layouts, especially with regard to reading steel drawings, nothing too technical just the practicalities.

What an outstanding site!! I'm midway through a garden project, have done a stone circle patio nand paved area plus decking for the first time, I encountered some drainage problems along the way and this site provided all the answers I needed, surely must be the best on the web on these subjects!

your artucle has been very informant and has helped me in deciding wether to attach this problem with chemical solutions or to wait it out and hopefully not for two yesrs. One thing I assume is that there are these efflorescense not only in the paver blocks but also in the makeup of coping that goes around the edge of the pool area . Again thank you for the time spent in developing your web site. steve schick keeping our razor sharp

Hi, I looked at your site for PIC studied what I needed to know for a couple of days, then got my quotes from a couple of company's. Worked a treat they thought I know what I was talking about, ( Even though I'm female ) got two great prices and one will even return every two years to reseal etc. Thanks
