I have been building driveways and hard landscaping since 1998. When I want to gain the confidence of my own judgement on how a project should be constructed, with the opinion of an expert,I come to this site for quality information, written in educated English. Marshalls etc should list you in their literature. As well as building driveways I sell diamond cutting tools online.

I’m extremely grateful for the information provided on your site.
I’ve been using your site every few weeks over the last 2 years, for information & advice on design & construction for landscaping & paving a sloping garden - my main ongoing retirement project. I am determined to do this job in a professional manner. I have found answers & tips for every conceivable enquiry that arises in design, material selection, construction procedures, alternative methods, tools & equipment.
The site is a one-stop professional encyclopaedia and very easily navigated.
Thank you very much for publishing the information & maintaining the site with updates.

This is a great website, very informative. You should write a book as you have made this subject easy to understand. I studied concrete mixes for 6 months as part of my degree course in quantity surveying and everything I needed to know is here. Top job. Regards, John.

I stumbled across this site when researching how best to pave our side garden. There were all kinds of new regs to deal with in regards to drainage etc as we are looking to provide off street parking.
Thanks to Tony and his excellent advice what might have ended up a quagmire was in fact made clear and easy. So thank you very much for your invaluable advice.Suzannah

Your site has got to be the most shining example of the best of the internet! Free, knowledgeable, unbiassed, comprehensive - how do you do it? Whenever (often) I consult the site I wonder, is this a labour of love or does it pay for itself somehow? Whatever - keep up the great work!

I tried to log on a month or so ago and the site was down
- I was horrified! Having referred to it through several
years of Dip Hort studies, Cert and then MA Landscape
Arch., I thought it a rock solid institution - so I am so
glad it was only temporary time off air. Brilliant site,
thank you.

Well,
This has got to be the most informative site in this field that I have come across. Whatever skills and knowledge you have can only be improved by looking through this web-site.
I came across this site whilst looking for for some information on laying a patio over a clay soil.
Although confident I could do the job I needed to be exactly sure before I started of any possible pitfalls and also of the best working methods.
The wealth of information is staggering and I found myself browsing onto other areas not relevant to my immediate requirements Highly reccommended site with good practical advice and also a forum to air any problems advice and suggestions.
So by all means Google, but I bet you come back time and time again to this site. All the best to the web-site hosts and a big thank you to all contributors.

Hello Tony. I'm planning to have a patio laid, and I blushed when I read your opinon of the Dolly Mixture buff/pink chequerboard - it's what I'd been thinking of !! I didn't know about the riven design, it's very pretty, and I hope to be able to afford it. If not, chequerboard it'll be !! Fantastic website, wishing you the best of luck.
