I have only found this site today whilst doing a Google search for patio/driveway firms. I had never really given much thought to what kind of chemicals might be used by driveway/patio refurbishers to achieve their 'I promise you it will look like new when we've finished' claims! Also the 'special/unique' maintenance and weed free coating which is supposedly going to leave me with nothing to do?? I have had two quotes already but I wont be getting any more. I am going to invest in a good yard brush and have a go myself, using the advice given on this excellent site. Thank you.

I am a structural engineer and came across the site a few years ago when looking for some info on paving details. I have used it regularly since, lots of straight forward practical advice and details. Excellent work.

Had a knock on the door and the "specialist" outlined how he could make the block paving drive look like new concrete [at a cheap price as he was looking for someone to entice all the Estate!] Jetting, re-sanding, stabilizing the joints and sealing - result free from weeds in joints ,bright shiny drive and 5yr guarantee He would'nt give details of any of his products to be used I was'nt interested apart from the thought that stabilising the joint might give a weed free drive However read the PAVINGEXPERT web site which is amazing for practical details - clearly written by a person with lots of experience Spoke with Tony Junior to confirm my thoughts to leave the drive as it is and continue treating with one of the weed clearing products from time to time Brillliant WEB site and thanks for the chat Tony peter - 1st june 2014

Fantastic site, that has really helped me with my garden design portfolio, particularly choosing materials and finding out how to properly landscape, so that I can create cost estates and lists of works etc. Thankyou! Ps LOVE the humour :)
I am back using this site to help plan our new patio. I laid a garden path using granite setts a couple of years ago, and it looks great. I'm sure it's because of the information I got from this site. Many thanks, and keep up the good work.

Seems like most people i 'stumbled' across your site. Just about to embark on a garden changeing exercise involving several tons of aggregate and stone. To be honest, I thought that I knew enough. Whilst I think I may have got away with it, I'm so glad I found this site. It has backed up the stuff I thought I knew and given me some insight into things I really had not thought about. If only all professionals were this professional the world would be a better place!

Enjoyed your website as it provided a lot of useful information. Designing a New Orleans style courtyard for my antebellum home in Selma Alabama. I will be visiting again as the project develops. Thank you.

I loved your web-site and advice so much, I'm going to read the rest of it, not just the bit about death to the black spots on my patio.

I just want to commend you on your website. I'm having an efflorensense carbonate calcium problem the 2nd day my pavers were installed and was having a conniption until I read your site. Well done and thank you for the fantastic information.
I'd done a little building work and ground work in my early twenties and my main reason for visiting was to calculate the materials I needed for tidying up the front of my house. I am impressed with the amount of useful information on this site and would like to thank you for some of the background knowledge that I was missing. Highly recommended 5*

Oh what a shame! - it was going so well. You were sounding so professional and knowledgeable and then.... Oh dear.... "(spit) Thatcher" Why did you have to introduce your bigoted political opinions and very poor taste in such a way to this site? At this point I closed the door to you! As I say "what a shame"
