Thank you for sharing such a rich variety of detailed
information. After googling in a frustrated fashion for
weeks, I now UNDERSTAND why land drains work, and how
to build one. The task of diy-ing our own patio and the
required drainage (clay soil, terraced levels on a
hill, waterlogged in winter because builders in the
1960's apparently didn't bother with land drains) now
seems completely do-able, because I understand the
principles. Thanks so much.

Dear Tony,
May I thank you for the incredible website you have put together, It allowed me to confidently specify slabs, plus sand and cement quantities, prepare and correctly lay a large patio and path area. I really appreciated your 'Trade Tips' and humorous comments scattered throughout the various parts of your wonderfully helpful online advice service.
Your website has my vote as the Best Ever that I've encountered.
Thank you once again.

Just couldn't believe what I was reading! Spot on, humorous, and most of all brilliant! I'm thinking of branching out into driveway/patio cleaning as an additional service as no one is doing it where I live, and been on this site for 2hrs, absolute minefield of info, will definitely use this over and over again, many, many thanks. This is a wonderful site for the paving industry, only one thing I could not find was list and name of international suppliers of molds for pavers and flags. This would help people like me to find the best material at competitive rates to make pavers

People I had the pleasure of my 22yo son and his mate help me concrete a 12m x 1.5m path I had to buy more gravel and sand because with 2ton on my trailer you can't fit 3 gallons into a 2 gallon bucket.I got caught short waiting for the sand man to open well they did not follow the ratio mix I told them and I have to top it by myself this time....And they are the future. He wondered why I tell people that kids are a by-product of sex.

Comprehensive! What more can I say except thank you.
We used this marvellous site and your step by step instructions to make a block paved path.
Saved ourselves paying someone else and have a great sense of satisfaction (along with rough hands and sore back!)

Many thanks. I have been using your page for reference for many years now and have completed several small projects with the knowledge provided by this site. Now as I begin to take on a few of the largest projects around the house I will rely on this info even more.
Thank you and keep up the great work.

This site is an object lesson for anyone designing a webpage. It's hugely informative, authoritative, well researched and superbly written. Not only that but all the many links actually take you to the subject indicated. What a refreshing change! VERY WELL DONE to all concerned! This is the only place I'll need to visit for expert advice.

Could not leave the site without congratulating you on just a brilliant resource.
I've used your guidance and information myself to produce excellent results from a base of almost no knowledge at all, and now recommended it to others as the best destination on the net for paving and related advice.
Thanks again.

THANK YOU!!!!
This is the minimum I can say! Congratulation!. Your site is so complete, I wish I could find the same type of knowledge and expertise in every other part of the building! it helped me a lot and save me a lot of money and trouble in "black spot removing" and "rust removing". In this last case I had a lot of rust marks on my Indian mint sandstone from 6 month ago, I treated those by applying some lemon juice every (roughly) 6 hours for 24 hours and kept the stone wet from the juice with a cling film lay on top of the stones... the result was beyond expectation, the marks are barely noticeable when they haven't disappeared for good. I saved your website and will always get back to it before any paving work.
