I just wanted to say that this is one of the most useful and comprehensive sites I've seen. I've just completed a patio job at home and this web-site helped me to do a decent job outside my own trade. Many thanks for all your effort.

Could not have got through our project without this site. Professional advice in an easy to understand manner. Just a great site :) Thanks
Glad I found this site as I was approaching a little DIY job with trepidation. Having read through many parts of this well laid out, clear and useful site I approach the pointing trowel with much confidence Thank you

This is a very helpful and informative,not-for-profit site, which is immensely useful to anyone looking to pave or resurface their drive or patio. You clearly have inherited yor father's integrity - I'm sure he was...and continues to be, very proud of you.

Very interesting & useful site. I would have liked to see some recommendation on gravel size and shape for fairly heavily used areas in front of a house - and which does not bring in bits of gravel on people's shoes. And the jibe about imperial measurements - yards, feet and inches to most people - is quite offensive. People of my generation (and my children!) were brought up when these were standard and we have no difficulty in using them, and do not need a calculator to work out volumes from mm, cms or whatever. Americans see no reason to embrace the metric system, and nor do I! Here in France, the home of the metric system, the inch (pouce) is used alongside cms in many applications - plumbing, tv screens, for example - and often one buys things to find them in whole inches converted to a weird number of mms. Just provide the conversion service without any of the rude comments please. 'Tis no way to win new customers.
