Wow! I googled and found you!! What a wonderful site to find out answers to questions you feel too stupid to ask. I feel I know quite a bit now about drains and sewers; probably a bit too much?! Many thanks for a clear, well presented site that doesn't patronise the lay person.

Hi there Just a quick note to say what a fantastic find this website is. Was looking for a quick spec for a tarmac surface and was blown away at the rigour, authoritativeness (made up word?!)humour and downright generosity of this website! All power to your elbow, and thank you for putting it here. Regards Steve

What a fantastic site.Wish I had seen it before the " cowboys" had turned up on my driveway. When I supplied some of the technical information from the site to the leader of the demolition squad he replied Sure thats a load of old b!!!s. They should all be made to get a certificate from Tony before being let loose on any bit of work.Buyer beware!

What an excellant site, the amount of information given in such a clear way gives lots of confidence when watching a so called professional botch a small patio. Congratulaions and many thanks to all involved in running this website.
Brilliant practical site, and a great learning resource for graduate civil engineers who want to understand how things are done in the real world, after degrees which only concentrate on academic matters. I recommend this site to all engineers, young and old alike. Vernon Gaskell Bsc(Eng) ACGI AInstLM MICE CEng
Wonderful to see this resource on the web .... even from the other side of the world. If anyone is interested in concrete paving, particularly exposed aggregate, you might find our http://www.concretewa.com.au website useful. Thanks.

As a complete novice at any landscaping work, I have found your site an excellent resource. I have completed my Garden Patio using the advice you supplied and have ended up with a very professional looking result (The envy of my neighbours). I will be recommmending pavingexpert.com to any of my friends attempting similar projects. Many Thanks

Brilliant site. So nice to see a site which is just a pure public service, well done, informative, honest, and straightforward good old-fashioned sound advice. And it's so well put together. On top of it all the site is not trying to sell anything - except your book, which I would buy for the full price if ever I have even the slightest need!!

I really enjoy reading the various items on your site but I am particularly impressed with your reason for continuing to manage it as, despite having some health issues, you are determined to mantain your interest in your chosen profession. All strength to you. Ed (60 years old but still a kid at heart)
