Having begun a DIY kitchen extension, the man from the council said I must have a soakaway. Thank you for so much real- world information. I now have no fears about tackling my drainage!!

All concerned with making such a brilliant site should be congratulated. Highly impressive layout that answered all my questions about surface drainage and also lead me to information on driveways which was the next question I would have asked. I am sure I will spend more time here in the next few days. As an oldish property owner a bit more advice about existing soakaway issues would have helped me. ie How to access and recover. What are the issues if they dont meet existing regulations ?

I've renovated a house with the help of various tradesmen and finally I got to the drive... This site is undoubtedly the best source of information I came across. The drive is done thanks to your web site and I continue to sing the praises of A J Mc Cormack and Son. Thanks to you for the information and God for the good weather! It makes me proud to be of Irish descent to see such a well presented and informative web site that is actually of some use.

Thanks for the great site. I have searched for an hour to find someone that explains activity in simple steps using words most of us would understand. Will certainly use your site in the future. TD

Many thanks for the intelligent and unbiased advice. I've now accumulated enough confidence to talk with authority to local contractors - cowboys beware! PS Congrats. to the site designer - one of the best I've encountered.

This site is a fantastic resource. I knew very little about block paving (but more than my contractor apparently). This site has given me knowledge to sack the contractor and do it myself. Thanks for all the help.

A very interesting site for people interested in paving, etc. We have a small terrace of 200 year old cottages in Carlow and the residents have had a long battle with the local planning authority to preserve both them and the cobblestone footpath outside these cottages. The upkeep of the cobblestone footpath is a concern - thus my interest in your site. Many thanks.
