another pile at the bottom of the garden mick
I reckon 10 tonne in total
plus minus 2 skips
our grab man wont take any rubbish anymore just mud and hardcore, last lot of rubbish cost him £600 to tip :(
its not always economic but i reckon on this job it has saved me a few quid
the biggest thing you need is space to do the crushing

450 by 450 will fit ,but we found it easier just to give them a quick knock and break into 4pieces
I have a feeling those old black slabs were home made as the thickness varied a lot, they didnt look like factory made
breeze blocks and bricks, straight in no probs

pots = carrotts on the left
parsnips on the right (no show from parsnips)

the nets cover 60 cabbage, 40 brussels,20 swede and 30 lettuce

without the debris netting the pigeons would annihilate the lot in 2 days
best thing this year has been shallots, for some bizzare reason?

On your retainer LLL, do you not use starter bars to stop the wall shifting on the footing?

if it was higher we would have used *L* bars Jay
we started backfilling with the crush today and the wall is only retaining around 350-500 mm max
there will be a 225mm upstand around the patio
we filled up all the blocks with concrete as well today
so 400 wide by 500 deep concrete footing with that lot on top I would be surprised if it moved
a lot of flags turned up today ,bit of shaping up tomoz and probably start laying friday :)

they are being clad with this and capped with these
the jointing which takes just 10 minutes ensues that all the perpends are full and the mortar is compact in the joint
