It is that time of year when a number of Postal Scams resurface with 1 in particular recorded below:

Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize .

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.

Lol this is just a hoax.

So much so that the link to crimestoppers even says the same.

Was started about 8 years ago apprently but people read it and its starts again every year. If you get a scam etc etc just type in the particulars like "pds mail scam " and then the words hoax and google will tellyou if its true or something a bored 11 yr old put on facebook one time

i tell you what is very close to a scam
aauction in luton this weekend
you know the routine, press adverts full of tales of 60 inch tvs for 100 quid, picassos for 400 quid
the fact they have a lot of heavies at the "auction " says it all for me
4 weeks before xmas so get plenty of the GP
its all legal but rarely do folk get a real bargain from these type of auctions
LLL :(
"what,you want paying today??"

The places that allow them to hire the venues should be done for allowing them to take place.

I work for a metal firm and we get all sorts normally a white transit guy jumps out and says " I'm from buffalo stainless and I've come to pick that coil up their" it's tempting to stick the 5 tonne stainless coil in the back of the van just to see there face when the vans lowered.

O well, at least it made me think of the scams that will be forthcoming during the festive season. Got to be vigilant.
