More brick work that if it had a post in it it would have been fine or an 4x2 up the back

Just had it in the wrong place hehe

I lived in Rio for 6 months and saw some crazy building practices. Worst was on the main street through Ipanema, a guy was 1 flight up standing on a ledge and breaking it off with a jackhammer. No lanyard, no harness, no goggles etc I wanted to stay and see if the ledge came down with him on it but had to get to training.

brick piers are rarely strong against lateral forces
a common quote from drivers is "i only nudged it"
after a 3000 brick wall has gone over from some one parking
