Type 1 depth pre-wacking

Post: # 120065Post dantgk1

For my patio the sub base will be 50mm type 1 MOT.
What depth should it be before putting the wacker plate over it to compact to the required 50mm?

Thanks

I can't necessarily answer your query, but could I just clarify your question - do you mean - "What depth of *loose* type 1 will compact down to 50mm?"

As I say, I don't think that I can answer your direct query, but I used the calculators on the main site to get the quantity of MOT for a specific (final) depth. Then threw all the tonnage in to the hole, spread it out evenly and compacted it down
