been on a hospital job today working for interserv via about 4 other sub contractors installing electrical duct for new operating theatre

spent more time in the office filling in paper work and method statements health and safety inductions, getting every stage check and signed off, falling out with the unhelpful jobs worth other contractors who wouldnt move vans, remove panelling that theyd been told to leave off without work orders or their boss saying so.

non of those lads would make it in the real world, my opinion its all gone to far, i mean being asked if i speak english and can read so i signed in as with my Bsc hons as well haha.

no wonder these jobs costs so much all the loops you have to jump through, could have got it done in half the time, come the reckoning.....

On a job we done recently, indirectly for a certain part of government, although i cant tell you where, who for and why  at a certain dockyard, had to get a "permit to dig" for every hole for a security fence. Involved about 7 folk walking about looking at inaccurate drawings, scanning the proposed hole, getting the all clear, about 10 sheets of paperwork per hole. Still found dead leccy cables though :p
