never drink guiness in witherspoons ,it is always like dirty dish water,i think they get it cheap cos its near its sell by date
i always only drink guiness in irish or scottish pubs where the is a lot of it being sold and there is a high turnover
i was in some 2 bob teenie bopper bar last week and the girl gave me a guiness in a red hot glass from the dishwasher, when i rejected it she said it was policy not to chill glasses
ok good bye i said

At least you get *real* Guinness! Most of the stuff sold here is brewed in Canada, and is very harsh and bitter. We watch carefully for pubs owned by Irish who've emigrated to the States, as they're allowed to buy the black stuff brewed in St. James' Gate -- dunno if it's the water or what, but it's a different creature altogether, and well worth the extra bother.

funny enough t/lady i was in dublin in may visiting killmainan gaol, and went for a pint or ten in a pub called "the volunteer"
anyway i says to the landlord"how come even though we have irish guiness in the uk now yours tastes better??"
he says "jaysus ,we dont want to be paying guiness's dublin prices,we import ours from nigeria. they have the biggest guiness brewery in the world there and per capita they drink double the guiness the irish do."
i had heard about nigerians loving guiness but this kinda made sense
btw all the talk about dublin being expensive is rot,it actually worked out 12p a pint cheaper than my local
:O

as a direct asscendent of a Dublin Jack i can vouch that
it is indeed the best placee for the black stuff ...and i dont mean tarmac. its just like being at work where most of the drinking is done, as apposed to being in the pub where most of the work is done eh?
i wonder how many men have been tempted to go for a few pints tonite because of this topic? remember theres no monday club tomorrow ???
may your glass never be empty.
