Not only am I told I'm not allowed to use the search engine on the main site, but when I try and post a query about it on the noticeboard section I can't post there either.
What was it Tony said "The noticeboard section is only for problems with the board or the mian site" wasn't it?

I've been aware of the problem with the so-called search facility on the main site for a few weeks, and have tried fettling it on a number of occasions. It seems to work ok for a day or two and then fall over again.
I've been looking at an off-site solution, but it involves so much extra work to get it set up, that I've had to put it to one side for now.
As for posting in the Noticeboard section, as a Ganger, you should have posting permission. "Junior" members, ie those with less than 50 posts, are not allowed to post there, but according to the Control Panel, those with Ganger or Contractor status are allowed. I'll check it again.
Back to the Search facility - that will take a while longer, I'm afraid.
