I am not sure on the regulations for you Lucadobe however, try your local builders merchants as they sell insulation day in day out...

just found this on the web...
Building regulations require loft insulation to 0.25W/m²K (a depth of 150mm) and to 0.2W/m²K (depth of 200mm) in less energy efficient buildings. The latter is the economic depth that should be applied to all existing buildings today. This can be achieved by topping-up the existing insulation.

Hi I spoke to one of the engineers on our site today. he recommends a product called Tri-Iso which i am led to believe is only 4" thick and is compliant with the latest building regs.... this also means that you will not have to extend the rafters to suit a 10" covering....
