Hi Guys, new to the forum. I'm constructing a solid base for a 7m2 patio. I've laid a course of concrete blocks round the edge on a small footing. I plan to fill with 100mm of type 1 and finish with 100mm concrete. How long do you have to leave the concrete before tiling, heard 6 weeks. I'm laying 20mm porcelain on a thin bed adhesive. Cheers

I'm not sure how I missed this post for so long!

Usual guidance is 7 days minimum, 28 days preferred. I know some tilers like to have a bone-dry substrate but, for those of us working outdoors, we have to recognise that such a requirement is not always achievable, so we do the best we can - dry surface, no standing water, good weather for the first 48 hrs, so no rain, frost, etc.
