Morning all! Newbie sends his greetings and well wishes to you all. I've found the website to be incredibly informative but have to confess I'm a little stumped at one aspect of my project.

In short, we had block paving laid 18 months or so ago and it was never sealed. I'm sealing this weekend after watching site videos and doing some digging on what sealer to use (opted for Resibond Superior Matt).

Our blocks are edged with 10mm shingle and I wanted to seal/bond the shingle so it was 'fixed', essentially. The edging is about 100mm wide and pretty much goes round the entirety of the block paving, covering the mortar chamfer that holds the outer blocks in situ.

What can I use to achieve this and what method would be best suited? I had in mind a resin based agent that I would add to the shingle in a bucket to coat them and them trowel them in but I'm hoping one or two of you experienced folk would kindly point me in the right direction.

Thanks, in advance.

There are specialist resins that will 'glue together' these loose gravels but they ain't particularly cheap.

Romex have a great one by the name of Deko which, if it's available anywhere in Britain, it wil be from Cowley Stone in Worksop.

SureSet have some DIY kits but I#m not fully sure whether they are a pour-over product or a mix-with product.

Star Uretech in Blackburrrn also have a DSR resin (TekSet) which might be suitable.

Whichever you opt for, I'd urge careful and thorough research. What should be a simple operation, just glueing together loose gravel, turns out to be far more complicated than you could possibly imagine!
