This page at the bottom says that a gap can be left between paving and the wall and filled with gravel but is 'rarely if ever employed in the trade'. Is this true when the paving is less that 150mm beneath the DPC?

We are trying to work out if we need a linear channel, they have never been mentioned when we got quotes. Our current patio (to be replaced) is 75mm from the DPC and we cannot lower the level.

Thanks for your advice.

Idealy the paving needs to slope away from the house. If that is the case then you dont need anything near the building. If the driveway will slope to the house then yes linear channels are the best option, frnch drains are rubbish
