Just found all the resources - a great site.
I'm a DIYer looking for advice about my patio. We have a 5m wide, 4m long concrete slab patio at the back of our house. Problem is that it slopes slightly towards the house, so water tends to gather by the house (there is a step). I think that it has been like this for 40 years and no damp issues yet, but it still annoys us as it tends to wash dirt (we have chickens in the garden) toward the house and makes it harder to sweep the patio clean.
So in your expert opinions should I:
a) Break up and relay the slab (it's very thick -150mm) and access is difficult for skip/digger)
b) Lay slabs on top (use a sand/cement course to create a slope away from the house)
c) better plan based on your experience?
Any advice appreciated.
