I have recently (3 months ago) had a tarmac drive laid. It looks great apart from tiny weeds apearing at the edges between he tarmac & edging blocks and 1 or 2 tiny weeds appearing in the tarmac itself.
I am a complete novice - so my question is - is this to be expected? & should I control the weeds using the normal "Pathclear" type stuff.
All advice & comments very welcome!
Thanksin advance, Paul.

generally i would think these weeds are either windborne or have been dropped by birds and pathclear should do the trick. that is providing your contractor used enough sub base and tarmac to begin with and the weeds are not coming through the sub soil below

Without seeing the site, we can't say with any certainty whether these are weeds growing into the surface (which can't be avoided no matter how well constructed the drive may be) or whether thay are growing through the pavement due to shoddy prep and construction, but for now, I'd douse the lot with a quality weedkiller or bleach.

Thank you - the layers were subcontracted by my builder - who I trust & has done a very good job elsewhere. Will get the weedol out. Thank you for taking the time to reply. :)
