Finding a contractor - Pic and others

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

I've noted all said about needing a good PIC or other contractor and was looking for advice about how to find one, what questions I should ask, etc. Same applies for any recommended alternatives to PIC for a crumbling piece of crazy paving which could become a driveway. Also, do regular contractors do walls as well, or would I need to find someone else? Help much appreciated.
