Hi folks, looking for any advice on picking a pressure washer.
Done some internet research and pound for pound there's apparently other brands ( vac and niflisk) that offer more power for less money......
Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on brand names being outperformed by cheaper makes?
Also have any contractors got experience of perfectly good pointing etc being wrecked by over keen weekend gardeners with top end domestic pressure washers? Ie is a lower powered model maybe safer for DIY use?
Cheers

I bought the Karcher K5 couple of weeks ago, the K4 is identical bar the eco bit which costs £200 more by turning the dial for reduced power and reduced water consumption which also reduces the water pressure making it not as effective as it is on full power
Karcher K5 power washer
if I had my time again I would of opted for the K4, there is better out there but this was in B & Q and available to take away as my old pressure washer had finally packed in after 15 years
you get the rotary head with the K4/K5 which does much less damage to any pointing unless its perished in the first place

Stihl for me have been the best. I do not need a built in detergent tank which many karchers charge for, and mine recently stopped working after 15 years. Brought their top one, with the buikt in hose reel, auto stop and all the attachmemts, 260 plus vat.
bear in mind with 240volts, you will only ever achieve 150 bar max pressure.

We've got a few, big karcher k500 lives in the barn for steam cleaner cars and plant diesel heated claims up rd the 100 degree Celsius mark but it's only suited as a yard one as it's too big. Got a stihl like dan with built in hose real good bit of compact kit and portable. Got an older karcher with a aftermarket gun on it got ok power I use it for my decking then we've got a big honda petrol one mounted on a 1000 litre towable bowser that things a beast.
As mick said the rotary brush are the best or hire a big walk behind rotary one.
