What amazes me is the amount of time it must take to do a bad job, must be a good day's work cutting fiddly bits. But if you spent an hour thinking about it and planning it then it would work out quicker and a cleaner job. Always say: stop, stand back, have a look, take your time, do it once, do it right :;):

yes Sean, very true
the firm I used to work for (OHOB) introduced new hi vis which said on the back
"If you see it
sort it
or report it"
and
"Before you start,
Plan it
Think it
Then do it"
shame all the foremen said was
"f*cking slam it in, get it dug, dig dig dig, dog dog dog
, you still hanging that out?, there's good blokes on the dole, etc. etc."
all the planning and thinking goes out the window when foremans bonus is concerned
down here in Kent...sunny but breezy, was lifting block paving at 6.30 this morning about 15sq metres lifted, cleaned, sand removed, top up subbase, sand, screed, relay...home by 12.30
