Mod work? - Anyone tendered/been approved for such?

I have the opportunity for getting on board with the MOD for some civils/surfacing work- has anyone else here gone through the vetting/security clearance to enable works with them?

I remember back along (before my time) I was told that anyone with a criminal conviction had to leave site. 80% of the guys had to leave lol leaving the old man and a cpl of others to complete the days work! Not funny really.

we had to be vetted in the early 90s to work on the french embassy next door to kensington palace
only 4 out of 50 blokes had no irish ancestors up to grandad
I was lucky as my great grand father was from donegal
lot of subbies had to come in from essex

i had full clearance for all the pallaces houses of parliment and mod in the early eighties funny thing when doing the offical secrets act in whitehall my step sister came down from upstairs said hello i knew she was in the army but not where took six weeks for clearance to come then good money spinner .was a subbie to coppings landscapes lewisham mick copping was chairman of balli then ps dave they dig very deep

i found out my dad was a orphen from the bow bells in london a bloody cockney the lads in wales reckon i have some tar in me aswell lol

and before you all start i am welsh :p

its possible but as you say you are welsh and thats it
my mate wobbly has the lick, there is no one in his family but he defo has some moorish blood in him

ohh i have lots of moorish in me more food more beer he he and only have to look at the sun for a tan

Yes, depends on what clearence your after, and where you want to work.
