I picked up a second hand wacker for £70 last year. Needed a new carb (£20 from ebay) Never stopped working, good solid second hand, with a good name on it, you wont go far wrong.

if you can afford one get a bomag, i had one that was stolen last year and it was brilliant, aim for 16-18kn of compaction and you'll have a wacker that will do it all, they are not always heavy, and the belle wackers are shite

the engine fell off our belle mini pa after about 3 hours use they hadn;t locktite the nuts or anti vibration washer on them, quick fix but annoying on a £400 brand new one.

Giles the belle minipac is absolutley shit, i hired one once, could of got more compaction if id of slapped the MOT with a wet fish, but my belle wacker seems pretty good tbh, ive used a few different ones the belle pcx 500 is crap but the 400 that i have seems to be fine, like ive said ive never had any settlement issues, but i do agree bomag is better

yeah and no, 2 big break ins last 12 months, 1 digger gone 1 recovered, 1 3cx attempted theft, materials cabin got broken into all copper and 2 x whackers(big bomag with water tank and little belle and hilti dd100. you have lots of gear on big sites attracts attention be great if you could take it all home every night but practicalities etc prevent that.
