yes i agree 100%
sponsors want that clean cut family guy look,just ask Tiger woods Thierry henry or David Beckham
Edwards is in the autumn of his career so it will do him no harm,i cant imagine a 21 yr old coming out with little adverse effect to his career.
its always surprised me that the building game is so white dominated i have worked with a few black lads but they tend to lean towards plastering,but mainly its 2nd or 3rd generation Irish/Scottish

If it's a choice between the overpaid, violent, sex abusing lads with egos bigger than their wallets, i would choose the gay lads every time. But having said that, i hate football with a passion.

when i was an apprentice there was an engineer who batted for the other side, he never hid it either. once walked onto the job and shouted down the length of the corridor "hiya bobby" in the most camp voice ever, whole site stopped and stared, we just started laughing.

There used to be a gay labourer on one of the Barratt Homes sites we worked on back in the early 90s, and he terrorised (there is no other word for it!) one gang of brickies. They were abso-bloody-lutely scared witless of him and his camped-up mincing act. They were all mucho-macho lads from Wiggin, more than capable of having the craic with just about anyone and everyone, but for some reason, they were petrified by the open gayness of this particular labourer and had no answer for his antics, and didn't he just love that!

The more they squirmed, the more he camped it up. I'll never ever forget the look of sheer horror on the face of the hod-carrier when he found a butt-plug in his snap tin one dinner time! One of the funniest things I ever saw on a building site.
