There is a great tool known as a stick / walking / funny trowel, ha. I mention it because for reasons unknown i have yet to see it used here in England.
Unlike the fresno a stick trowel is used in a half moon action, the same as you would a hand trowel. Resulting in a smoother finish.

have you seen those 24" powerfloat that run of 24v battery or small strimmer engine saw them in the speedcrete catalogue look a great tool for small areas
got a 5,5 metre roller striker coming next week doing a 540m2 pour 114m3
