little tiffles is about to meet his maker
jesus h christ I haven't cried for about 25 year but I am in bits now

his heart and lungs are knackered and we got an extra 6 month from him with medication but that isnt doing it now

I was at a friends funeral yesterday and 10 minutes after the service we were laughing and joking

isnt it strange how a dog can get you like that

LLL :( :( :(

know exactly what your saying Tony, I feel your pain and I'm sorry to hear the sad new of tiffles

had an Alsatian for 10 years until she died in 1990, cried my eyes out as I took her to the vets to have an operation for a twisted stomach That will be £175 he said and I paid knowing there was not much he could do for her, said he would phone at 10pm, phone went at 10 to 10 with the bad news

took me 7 months to clean the dribble off the dash board of my van and to this day I have never had another dog for the simple reason I don't want to go through the same again, sounds daft I know but that's how I still feel to this day

dogs are more than a pet they are part of your family

Too right they are.

like everyone else I have the best dog in the world and dread the day when he won't be there to greet me when I come home.

I know what you mean Tony, about how it gets you like that.

feel a bit better now dug the trial hole worked a lot of sweat off into that
buried him facing south with his 3 dog bowls,in his favourite blanket and a message in a bottle for anyone down the line who wants to dig a metre down in the garden

i have been collecting cobbles for a few years on some weird pretext of making paperweights from them

anyway they ended up going on his grave ,texan style
thanks for your kind words fellas

Urban dictionary. Tiffles = Lifes not about the breaths you take but about the moments that take your breath away. :(

I like that and will try and make it my mantra when the going gets tough.

Take the day off Tony.
Actually maybe not, work will help take your mind off things.

I agree not to leve a kiddie with a dog, I got a rescue staffie who was pregnant, she had seven pups, I kept two and homed rest. One day they were bit by a spaniel off the lead, mine wernt, about three wek later we were out and an american clumber spaniel had been let out for a shit on the grass by my house(responsible owner) we come out my house and it grabbed my bitch pup which was about ten months old by the back legs, I tied the other two to a sign post and went to seperate them, one got out of his harness and the mum pulled loose and they got a leg each and just pinned it,
The woman did naff all but shout I had the dogs back by this but two police come and maced us all, my neighbour who was pregnant got a dose etc.
Any way I got a letter off of the american forces vet to ask if my dogs had been checked for rabies, in suffolk!! And other such nonsense the woman was TDY'd back to US with her un hurt dog, Police took me to court becuse they "knew where I lived" there words, I got £76 fine and have to muzzle dogs in public, no tattoos fairly controllable dogs but as I say not always dogs often owners.

but I wouldnt have left them with me grandkids before this, its just common sense.
