Haha. I have a job like that coming up, they want to buy some budget slabs from B & Q when they come on offer rather than have me supply and lay even a cheap sandstone that will look nice.

looks good mick, did you do the conservatory as well?

is it just me or do the angled bricks look a different colour and texture on the conservatory base?

dont talk to me about gummed up man holes :(

just finishing up big internal refit came to lift the manhole lids (big 600x600x150 deep) despite me telling the floor fitters to mask off the lid edges theyd managed to stick them down with self levelling compound, what you need on the 2nd to last day when everything is being cleaned and tidied up. took me 4 hours to get one up grinding rd it, levering the key with 2inch bar bending and my 20st on the other end, hads to rip the vinyl flooring off and eventually just stuck the big road breaker in the middle of the inset cover and let it have it with the 35kg breaker. did the trick but had to re concrete the inset covers

i was less than polite to the floor fitter who wouldnt believe me that we couldnt get them up

there was 10mm of self levelling compound rd the base of the cover and some had gone into the drain run :( so cleaned them up and greased them up and they are ok now

in an ideal world maybe but a. he wasnt there and it needed doing and b. he's a floor layer i doubt he'd have the skill or intuition to have got them up

he got to repair them at his cost and likely loose a good client (i've thrown £13k of flooring his way so far this year)

yeah purely aesthetics

we are very limited in the choice of pebbles these days and I actually called at 3 different merchants and 4 B&Q's looking for something to match, non of the chippings or pebbles with a hint of red or buff would of looked right with the argent light border so the best choice was the white cobbles

believe it or not the bricks match very well, I had just washed all the walls and patio with a hose pipe so the bottom 2 rows of the blue brick are still wet hence why they look like they are darker in colour
