I did the same a few years ago digging off a large driveway, the roll on roll off skip was on the angle with the back facing downwards away from the wagon and the driver had said only fill to about 300mm from the top as it did have higher than normal sides - did I listen not a chance
when he came to pick it up I had filled it the extra 300mm and haunched it from side to side and bashed it tight with a 3 ton machine, he had to stop trying to lift it when the front of the wagon was in the air and made me remove some of the dirt

I've got a pic of a bitelli paver stuck upto it's guts with a hopper full of tar somewhere.
We tried to pull it out with 2 tractors and 2 10t wagons all chained in a line.
Fu@k knows how they got it out
never seen those roll on skips round here
the skip boss wont take anything more than a 6 ydr full of mud or hardcore
he says every so often you get an eejit gets a 12 ydr for waste paper and fills it with mud
they just refuse to pick it up till its emptied
(this actually happened to my sister in law)
problem is the grabs lorry's will only take mud and hardcore
the ivy on that wall they wouldnt be interested as it costs them too much to tip

my record is 26ton in a 20yrd ro-ro, i did 2 like it on same job filled with tracked dumper so it packed it every load, had a fone call from the owner complaining so my answer was malcolm, i pay per ton for every ton in the bin so i have not robbed you ,he put the fone down, was a good craic. lifted no probs but VOSA would no be amused in a 17.5t max fill i used ro-ro's alot at one time as value for money £200 +vat for soil and inert, grab lorrys now £170 for 8 wheeler cash or+vat MSH
I seem to recall the last lot being almost pure white, but as i told the client its a natural product
your driver is a good bloke and does his job with a smile
I ma fed up with the big sheds sending out agency drivers who have done 2 hours HIAB training in a carpark, and wont drop anywhere but kerbside

I used weatherpoint 365
I know gftk 800 or romex D1 might be a better job but merchants dont stock them
the 2 patios I used 365 on last year still look fresh
FWIW 30 m2 with 10mm joints 25mm deep we used 3 tubs
I would have liked easipoint but after seeing the wick effect I wont use cement on sawn paving again
if photobucket starts working again I will post the finish pic
cheers LLL
It's been another week of smallish jobs as daren't start anything big with the weather being so unpredictable. "Start in the mud, you'll finish in the mud"
Did our first £1k pothole repair this week at a local Nuclear Power Plant; the security and access control to get in there with two trucks and three men is absolutely mental! (Which is good to see, really) but the time and reams of paperwork/checks etc has to be costed in.
