Now this may be a stupid question but is it possible with (SDSPlus bits) to drill stone? I've got an old weathered stone water trough that needs two drainage holes drilled to enable me to plant it, is this possible do you think or is it a job for a stone mason?
I'm unsure as to the actual stone, but it has obviously been carved. It is similar to this

Yes but your better going slow and gentle than going at it with a big hammer drill
Better supported on sand if drilling through the bottom but will be fine
Can you core drill it then fill with gravel?

I'd say to go with the core drill too as it will cut through rather than just sort of smash through, if you get what I mean. Also deffo for the sand underneath.
