one thing that strikes me from a design perspective is why the drive stops 3-400 mm short of the side path?
I hazard a guess it so the beech hedge wasnt killed but it just looks a little short
looks a nice installation though,dont envy the mystery installer those bleedin pinks

What sort of stone are the setts, granite, basalt? or summat else?

I tried and tried and tried again to get the client to let us take the paving right into that corner where there is a 300mm dia access chamber, but he would not have it.

I told him it would look stupid, but he doesn't agree. To him, having half-an-inch of 10mm Cheshire Pink pea gravel over the top of the existing concrete cover is absoluitely fine! I said I wouldn't be visiting him when he's in hozzy with a shattered hip!

The Pinks are, IMNSHO, dog rough and I wanted to send them back but again, I was over-ruled. At the end of the day, if the client is happy, that's all that really matters and this client is delighted.

Result!

cobble job all done but 25m2 of tarmac

these photos pre pointing, we created these channels as per the customers request to deal with a lot of water overflow from the field above, so i had the lads dig down find the old culvert and redirect the water back into it. thats solved the problem and the channels are now an overflow

2nd best we found this old trolley behind the last factory we were at, asked if we could have it and put a new floor on it. its been great for working in the big factories etc, theres about 1400kg on it here



piles in, there are 2 soldiers that go across it and brace it at the top but not in this pic, ground is very stable, consolidate very dry packed ground its a hard dig with toothed bucket

this thrench will carry the return water back to the big tank outside, flow rate on the cooling is 22l a second in a 150mm pipe 5% fall



ive got a timelapse of cutting breaking out but not had time to edit it, slab is 100-140mm concrete reinforced with the little 2 inch long metal chips not mesh so came out nicely






this trench will be a concrete trough 800mm wide by 400mm deep carry high voltage cables

i was in hilti getting a breaker serviced £200 but get a 6 month warranty on the whole machine after it not just the service

and bought one of these

£110 with the vat cracking bit of kit, paid for itself instantly setting these trenches out.

centre line 17638mm from far wall no problem a lot easier than tapes etc. use mine every hour now

Class 7/Motorhome MOT Bay installation from ground up - the original floor they wanted to put it in was running 70mm out of level - the shed had been built on a bit of outside yard area! So had to start from scratch



Lots of strong shuttering, concrete pour Monday 0730hrs. Who'd have thought we'd be pouring concrete this close to Christmas in 10 degree temperatures???? Ramp recess shutter is bolted down to the corner pads (this is a shaker type MOT ramp so needed a 300mm corner foundation) so this baby ain't going nowhere. Levels have had to be ultra-precise as the VOSA guidelines are pretty tight. Ductwork underneath for power and data cable runs. It's been a bit of a head-scratcher of a project but the next one would be easier.
