that's my type of breakfast too Tony :)

extension looks good but I still can't get my head round where there is any gain in the cost saving of spending your time crushing verse disposal unless darn souf skips are more than double what we pay

My mouths watering at the site of those poached eggs, boootifull.
I dont think that the crushers are feasible for every job but on the right kind of site where there is enough space I think they can save a few pounds. Also I think we will see crushers being used more and more going forward as the cost of aggregates and waste disposal continues to rise.

We barrowed in 15 tonne of crushed ( from Lovedays who can be trusted) this was £150 cost saving which allowed the client to go for sawn paving rather than riven
I will photo the ticket later which shows type 1 crushed concrete

Here was my sausage and egg bap, consumed in the glorious Devon sunshine last week in Brixham. Ignore my Leotack stained hands, they are quite clean, honest.

JOb i am doing, customer got a quote from an albanian and told him that there was lots of rubble to reuse on site with a crusher.
Albanian refused to do that, and said it was easier to buy new in.
He did not get the job as he refused to do what the customer wanted. As i had the crusher, i was able to be competetive.

Here's us planing off 1400m2 ready for resurfacing last week

http://youtu.be/ylDI_-ozRmI

Amazing accuracy of the metre planer with it's tilting drum enabling feathering-out of planed areas, planing at full depth up to the Aco units by 25mm or so, leaving us to tidy up the edges with our skidsteer mounted planer.

Here's the new surface (not the most interesting photo, I know) laid and finished - 50pen SMA10, some damn tough stuff to deal with.

You've got some fair bits of kit there Dave. It was like watching an episode of robot wars. I was amazed at how quickly the planing machine did its work. What happens with all the planings?

but we are not made of salt

had to use a 300mm bond to get big cuts on the squint

Image

have to say thats 3 times this year laid the sawn paving and the speed of laying and quality more than make up for the additional cost

thats some class patio work there.
Do you use spacers when you lay the slabs, or is it done by eye?

The metre planer is only taking off 40mm so it is quick work - the resulting planings all go back to our yard, complete with paperwork!
