Laying patio

I want to lay a patio and there is a concrete path around the house, do i have to break up the path where i want to lay the flag stones or can i lay them on top using a wet mix. After that can i use a grit/cement mix on the ground. Please could someone help.

you need to read the site info that is here,to save us having to explain exactly how you need to do the work. as for the path i wouldnt lay on top of it thats a bodge. take it out, do it properly, do it once.
