I'm going for the VW, spotted a few now, all miles away, but there is a Treg(99) in Coventry, in really good nick so I might consider giving it a look at least. They have a 2.4 lt engine, so they must be able to carry a bit, I'll have to check the spec online, but they are reliable, go for ever and look tidy. I had contemplated a Pick up but they seem next to useless for what we do, more of a pose than a tool. One of the Lads just bought himself a Nissan Navara, he's forever cleaning it as soon as he puts anything in it.

I would get nothing done if I tried to keep my navara clean. I just accept that it's a working vehicle and it's going to get dirty and a few scratches on it.

The other advantahe to the vw is that do as you likeys mever drive them.. Dont know why but they eitherhave the transit or a pick up

Good point LPD mate, I've wanted one for years, but never saw the tippers about so never looked. I was always trying to figure out if I could manage with the Panel version and a trailer. The problem with "pick ups" is hardly anyone uses them as a work vehicle, they seem to be more about a Tax dodge and a pose. Most of the guys I do know who "use " them properly seem to be Plant guys and the odd Garden maintenance firm.
P.S Whats wrong with Navarras DN? I'll pass it on to the lad who works for me.

SOME of the early navaras had problems. Thats all been sorted out now, the market leader i believe!

Im only having a giraffe, i just got a bad one.......im looking at a brand spanking new isuzu, can tow 3 tonne, 5 years or 120k warranty, my mate owns the dealership....ill post pics if i get one.

Even after the bad experience with my Nav, id still have one of them new navara teknas, or better still the one with the v6 engine, that will no doubt pull like a train

l200 now have 125.000 mile warranty and contract hire

Nothing can legally tow 3 ton on the rd other than trucks or those funny 5th wheel set ups with active breaks, we've covered this loads but the most you can tow legally is about 2 ton with a defender 90

I can legally tow 3.5t with my fourtrak thats a 2.8t machine and trailer

Does it pull OK? iv a 2.8t machine but don't like towing it, i put it on the back of the wagon.
