have an x5 at moment but terrible in snow and not good on motorway
Done a lot of miles in Navara in the snow, the only time it has gotten stuck was in waist deep snow in the moorfoot hills. The following day the groundskeeper phoned me up and said he almost got the tractor stuck that day because the snow was falling faster than he could move it.
I imagine the new model is even better since it has a diff lock.
The only thing you have to watch out for is the back end kicking out when you have no weight on it.

x5 are dog turd in the snow, big silly wheels with low profile tyres, auto boxes etc maybe ok on a bit in the rd but not proper snow

my dad was a 4x4 dealer before becoming a builder, i grew up with 10+ 4x4 at home all the time, learnt to drive at 14 in my own defender 90, then had a 110 for dosing around the fields in

me and dad got navaras, mums got landcruiser, sisters just swapped her ml for an audi q7, but weve had them all, from touraq V10 diesel to rangerover overfinches etc

lancruiser amazon takes some beating defenders most fun as doesnt really matter if you slide it into a dry stone wall :) we used to have a 130 work spec was great in the snow narrow tyres to grip the ice.

i had a l200 warrior before and the diff was a nice touch, just been out today with the dog and the lad went the back way had to pull a transit and a brand new discovery out the snow(woman driver)

anything with road tyres is going to struggle, but unless you live rural or are doing lots or rural miles ( i do 100 miles a day inc two 1400 feet peeks through the oeak district road tyres are going to be better on fuel, noise ride,

hmm that's strange Giles as I had no problems today driving through 150mm of snow in my X6 with even bigger "big silly wheels with low profile tyre's" and I did not even bother changing from automatic to manual box either as it was not required

I even climbed over the 300mm mound of snow that had built up behind it while parked on the drive

not saying its the best 4 x 4 on the road but its not the worse either like your painting the picture

Never arrive at a job in a motor better than the customers. Good rule of thumb that.

Mick I didn't mean to offend your BMW love, hehe I installed some servers at their factory when I lived in Munich and had a few tours of their museum and park and nearly everyone in Munich drove a BMW, talk about brand loyality

Not driven the x6 , and it was a few years ago but my sister had the x5 e53 4.4 on the 315 tyres and it was useless getting off a flat car park was hard work, and appreciate not everyone is up and down dale like me but I've gone past a few on winnats pass etc spinning out, although its the same for range rover sports, Porsche cayenes, touraegs

(I know it's a unfair video as the drivers an idiot)

When I lived in Munich we had snow constantly for 4 months and my golf gt tdi with winter tyres on it was was great. But hills and bit off rd are different, your 300mm assent did make me chuckle though hehe

Horse for courses the tyres and driver are more important th old series 2 defender in 3rd gear low range I'm sure could climb Everest it was that good in the snow.

This is the kind of stuff I have to deal with when it snows crossing the peaks

A lot of the commercials come with 3 years interet free finance now, like I say dad was a second hand car dealer but navara deals were too good to miss, a lot of lads I know are leasing their pickups now
