Remember that thread where we drifted onto the topic of Donkey Jackets? I thought I'd see how much it would cost to get one, just for the sake of sentimentality. Prepare for jaw to drop.....

the main thing i recall about donkey jackets is that they were rubbish
got soaked in the rain, any bit of sun sweating like a horse and the wind whistled through them

There was'nt really any alternative to a donkey jacket. Now there are all kinds of clothing workwear to keep dry and warm. Bloody hell Tony wish i had my old vintage one now at those prices. Wonder what my old crombie is worth that i had to retrieve when my wife binned it, got in the boot so she can't see it :;): :)

Would you buy a coat for £49 to work in then, i certainly would not, i'd want coat, jeans, thermals, jumpers etc; for that and change :) Like LLL it is a suit for me including shirt and tie :;):

I have tank driver issued army thermals. Pretty good. As for a coat, i like all the snickers and blaklader work wear so i think nothing of spending £140 on my heated milwaukee jacket! It all comes of the tax bill right, so may as well have the best

I'm pretty sure it all comes off the gross profit of the business not all off your tax bill.

It will reduce your tax liability yes, but not by the full amount of what you are spending.

I still have the same 12 year old nautica fleece
you just get used to being comfortable in certain clothes
rarely wear jeans to work anymore, normally jogging bottoms, 2 t shirts and a fleece
the need for movement and comfort overrides style or labels
