They are known to be used as a brick tie also when existing ties have failed.
You drill part way throgh the inside skin from externaly and resin bond these in.
But as LLL has done, I have used these to stich up minor cracks.

Its just that i'm dealing with one site that has these things lying in bundles all over the place (170yr old school) and had no idea what they were for.

What a week my timing belt snapped on my van and the silo has been down for 3 days so had to mix the dust out of it in a mixer and the boys let me down on monday not happy! And the client wanted to make a few changes after the setts were in..
But I have some more work lined up and its Friday

Poor service again yet again.....

hagg a timing chain is one of them...
I had one go or a cam belt or whatever it is on the M1
not a pleasant experience losing all power at 80 mph
but my mechanic said you should change certain things every 12 months
i just drive till it dies

fence didnt move one bit cam belts can cause a hell of a lot of damage when they snap usually its suposed to be done on miles or age whatevers sooner

That's one of the benefits of owning a Nissan. They use chains not belts, so they fail once in able moon.

my mechanic reported only the other day, how a lot of timing chains are starting to fail, honda diesel's at 100k, BMW's and others. much prefer a safe engine, but they are few and far between.

I much prefer a suspender belt, but I see less of them nowdays.

It's recommended you replace the chains, but not as often as a belt.

not adverse to chains etc either :laugh:
my brother in laws 18 year old accord has just reached 180,000 and the original clutch is on its way now
not bad for the amount its done
