As a keen watcher of golf -- not an actual golfer !! I am really looking forward to watching the Ryder Cup. Europe v USA. Finishing early on Friday and warned the wife and kids that this weekend is all about me sitting on my ass with some beers watching some very wealthy men hit balls round a big field It's one of sports great spectacles. The rivalry is fantastic. I actually looked into going to Chicago to watch it Couldn't justify the 3 grand to the wife though Wonder why she didn't like the idea. Will have to settle for the hard slog of 11 hour days on the sofa Oh and to make it even better we have the Super League playoffs semis. The mighty St Helen's to win
I know a lot of you on here will have the same view as Mark Twain - golf is a good walk spoilt.

The European lads are well up for it. They could just do with a classic pairing like Olazabal and Ballesteros used to be for the fousomes and fourballs. They destroyed everyone they played and really gave a sense of momentum to the whole team.

I think Tony is about right with a Euro victory by a margin of two.

The only good thing about golf is that at least you know where all the local pratts are at any given time.

The only thing thats gonna annoy me is the yanks shouting USA USA USA and 'get in the hole' ffs shut up

Whose Warrington boys? They ain't mine!

If I have any allegiance at all to the world of Ruggerby League, then it's to my adopted home town of Leigh, The Leythers aka The Comics.

Culcheth is only 3 miles from Leigh, but 7 miles from Warrington. And it's definitely NOT in Cheshire!

my only sending off in my rugby union career was for smacking a lad in a 40 man punch up at leigh after a leaguer fore arm smashed our centre and knocked him out, coaches physio's everyone involved, ref was even throwing punches

funny we had a real good drink with them afterwards and a sing song, guy i hit broke his eye socket :( oops but he was ok about it :)

My only sending off in my golf career was when I hit my playing partner in the face with a 1 iron on the first tee at Marple Golf Club.

Well....not sent off, but I did have to take him to Stepping Hill for x-rays. His fault for standing too close to the tee. Nothing broken luckily. I did miss the competition though.
