Slabs laid on concrete - Sandstone spec

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

we have a spec for a job to lay sandstone slabs on a 50mm concrete screed, they all ready have a type one base on the site
i have never laid slabs directly on to a damp screed ? any advice ??

What type of sandstone flags are they? Sandstone is generally not laid on a screed. Even though most sandstone is now calibrated, the thickness is not reliable enough to go on a screed. It would help to know the exactly what the stone is

Are you sure that's just not bad wording, they probably mean on a 50mm bedding course, but their calling it screed because it's sharp sand/cement?
