surely there was another way of dispersing the surface water from the patio without having to fall it to the centre and end up looking like something you would construct for the council on a pavement with that type of cutting ?
drainage channels or falling to a corner would of looked much better
got to agree with the 20mm difference on the bottom step, definitely a different height than the other steps
I don't care what anyone says crosses on patio paving laying pattern is just a massive no no for me and anyone who lays that way as far as I am concerned is at the bottom of the tree with skills - I thought this was paving expert you can train a monkey to lay paving that way !!
the photo you posted on 24th Feb showing the steps without the flag treads, what's the craic with the 4th brick in from the left hand side, I thought brickwork was laid to a line ?
.....I would if i could loco'. And when i do i will expect praise, or criticism, after all this site is called paving expert so we need to show the diyer the good workmanship and also knock the not so good. You know how it works m8.
I'm gonna wade in, those cross cuts did puzzle me. Does look like a pavement as Mickg said couldn't you have fallen it to a channel drain?
I went fishing with my dads mate and his friend came with who was a " landscaper" he'd done my mates dads outside kitchen area. Heard high praise about him was full of + lips massive variances in jointing width and colour some laid upside down. I've got a pix somewhere but anyway my point most clients don't know these rules infact most contractors don't.
Even with the history you two lovers have lets keep it conscructive and not get into name calling

Yep, i could have added a liner drain but the house was the 2nd to last on a run and the room from top of pipe would have compromised to dpc by maybe 50mm, we were on a budget as always and i tried to illiminate the cost of the linears at the same time, the gully was actually underneath the original patio and runs in to existing drain run for every house on the street. I actually like the outcome, it was a few days messing around with the cuts but its different and functional.
