hi lads some on on here will know
i drive a vw caddy
i would like to tow a tailor nothing massive and I am not looking to shift a lot of weight just mixers and the like
now i passed my test after 97
so i believe i am only aloud to tow a "small" trailer ?
the specks for my van are as follows
gross vehicle weight kg 2175
Trailer weight braked 12% / unbraked kg 1400/710
Gross train weight kg 3550
i believe from reading this page
linky
as long as i keep the total weight of van & trailer under 3.5ton i am legal
is this true ?
can i pull a 1400kg trailer on my licence and my current van ?
do the coppers work on the plate weight on the trailer or do they weigh u at to find if you are over the 3.5 t ?
i hope i am making scene here
it all seems very completed to me
cheers
andy

No you are wrong, you need a trailer entitlement you can only tow 750 kg without a dedicated towing license, and you can't tow a trailer with a capacity greater than 750 even if empty On phone or I'd post more
