Its like face ache for professional types
I am on it too but it serves little purpose for me
just think LPAD you have had a whole year to post pictures of your stuff but now the sheriff is back in town :;):

I am surprised that you can still be busy mick when unemployment has shot up and we are in the depths of the worst recession since 1980

I can get trades 50% cheaper than 4 years ago, something not right there when everything else has gone up

the only thing keeping a lot of blokes going is the low interest rates,if they go up a lot will go pop

still keeping busy but this cold spell has brought us to a standstill and there is sweet FA we can do about it :(

there is no denying that this is indeed the worse economic climate we have experienced for the last 30 years if not more, that said though everyone I know who are good at what they do have got loads of work on at this present time but that could all change quite suddenly this year there is no doubt about that

love this comment or hate it as I know there are mixed feeling with the Marshall's register but being a approved Marshall's register installer has certainly helped us for the last few years and winning the Marshall's best driveway in the north west 2010 and Marshall's best driveway and patio in the north west 2011 will most certainly help this year too

it depends how you quantify loads of work on
up untill 3 years ago we were booked in 9month-1 year in advance
now we have 8 week lead times
so busy yes,but would like more lined up
had another client pull out of a 50k job last week, cant risk spending the money when his own job (civil servant) may be on the line, still got work to do there but not as much
thanks mr.cameron and mr. osborne, the austerity measures are starting to work now

yeah fair comment luton, you do a different type of work to us so if we are 8 - 10 weeks in front then we have more than enough work to keep us going, last spring we went up to 20 weeks ahead

Ive no doubt that it has Mick, your work is top drawer, we arent all out paving lads, we do groundworks, go out on hire with plant etc, i just enjoy paving and if it can earn you a few quid too.

The bradstone scheme i think will take a while to get going, IMO it was launched at the wrong time of the year, this springtime will see if it going to work or not. For me the Marshalls register is too saturated, i was competing with like 10 other firms round my way who had been going 10+ years.

With the bradstone register being new, and me being the only one on it round these parts i thought it was a better bet? Well see anyway.

I hope the Bradstone scheme works out for you Dan, I saw the guy just before Christmas and listened to the pitch but after careful consideration I decided not to join as I can get enough work with the promotion/advertising I do now

does someone from Bradstone call and see you throughout the year to assess your work on an ongoing basis ?

Yea Mick, he calls me regularly, and visits site whenever hes around. Half the time we are doing something completely non-paving related. Weve also done some repair works for bradstone's customer care department where customers have had a problem with material failure, they send us to fix it, purely because we are on the assured list.

I get on with bradstone better than marshalls, i dont want to go into to much detail about it on here.
